“Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me;
Lord, be my helper!”

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.

Have you ever felt pain so relentless you questioned whether you would survive? Has sorrow cut to the depths of your heart? Have your burdens crushed you under their weight?

Depression has paid me several visits throughout the years. I considered suicide several times, but God never allowed me to actually attempt it.

When we fall into depression’s dark pit, we feel like we are living on empty. We can’t speak to those thoughts and tell them to vanish. Try as hard as I could, it took more than speaking Scripture over my life to break depression’s grip.
