Expect An Answer to Prayer
Herod had thrown Peter in prison for preaching the gospel. This was the third imprisonment for the beloved leader of the early church. His execution was scheduled for the following morning. The church was in constant prayer for his release, which would take a miracle due to the intense security of the prison.
Born by Faith
Why is child-like faith necessary for salvation? The virgin Mary was a teenage girl, not a child, but she still possessed the faith of a child. Children tend to believe without question. Adults have become cautious with their trust after being hurt and deceived many times by a world that is less than truthful.
Think about young Mary, betrothed to Joseph. They were excitedly planning their future, and a heavenly visitor surprised Mary with a major change to their plans.
Guide Dog Tales: Focus on the Father
For no apparent reason, Iva, my guide dog, stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. The strip mall remained quiet with only a few shoppers. We had been strolling back and forth from one end of the sidewalk to the other in order to get some extra steps in for the day.
“No, Iva, forward!”
She continued, but Iva stopped again on our way back down. Then she led me to the door.
The Longest Night
