ARE WE MISSING THE MIRACLES

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee,
and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
John 2:11 NKJV
Before we pray, do we pause to consider the glories of God that will be manifested from our requests? Do we think about the miracles we will see?
Jesus’ first miracle occurred at a wedding. Not everyone attending the wedding observed the miracle.
Jesus’ disciples witnessed water becoming wine. It might have been for their benefit. They had no part in the miracle which increased their faith.
Jesus commanded the servants to fill the water pots to the brim with water. These folks knew better than anyone that there was nothing but H2O in those pots. They obeyed Jesus, unsure of what was going to transpire.
Next, Jesus asked the servants to take a step of faith. He commanded them to draw out of the pots and serve it to the master of the feast. they obeyed the Lord without questioning Him.
I doubt the master of the feast would have been pleased if he was served water. Would you want to be the one handing him a glass of water when he expected wine? The disciples were probably kept on the sidelines because they surely would have objected. And if we are honest, we would have protested too.
“Jesus, I’m not going to give him water. Do you realize what You are asking me to do?”
But not a word was uttered by the servants. In humble obedience, they became part of the first miracle. They were involved in the miracle.
How exciting! Wouldn’t we all like to be part of a miracle? We can when we pray.
When we boldly go to the throne room and make requests before our Father, and we trust Him to heal. We trust Him to deliver. We trust Him to break through in our finances, in our families, and in our churches. We must have that kind of faith.
Next, we must be submissive to God. Those servants obeyed Jesus without any hesitation. Is there some sin we think we have hidden? One of those attitude sins like hatred. We can hide nothing from God.
Are we willing to do whatever the Lord asks? This is often where we fail. No, Lord, I can’t leave the church I attended for years and go elsewhere. No, Jesus, I can’t pull my kids out of school and home school them. No, Jesus, I can’t give that amount of money.
If we desire to see the manifest glory of God, we must trust and obey. Just like the old hymn.
As we pray today, spend time pondering on the glories we may see. Just because we became part of the miracle with a prayer.
Heavenly Father, I long to see Your manifest glory. Increase my faith. Help my unbelief. Give me courage, and help me always obey. Forgive me for the sins I have tried to hide. Cleanse me from it. Thank You for the miracle I will see because I trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
