Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
1 john 5:14-15 NKJV
You can imagine the difficulty I have finding something when it’s out of place because I am blind. As hard as I try to be organized, it seems every day there’s something that isn’t in its’ home, as I call it. Add in my absent-mindness when I get deep in thought or prayer, and I have made hide-and-seek a game I can play all by myself.
This morning, it was my deodorant. Positive that it had fallen off my nightstand, as usual, I scanned the carpet with my hands, asking the Lord to help me. I stood to my feet and decided to save time and get a new deodorant from the bathroom. Just then, the Lord spoke, “Look on the dresser.”
I might know how Peter felt when he had toiled all night fishing without a catch (Luke 5:3-9). Jesus told Peter to cast his net on the other side of the boat. The likelihood of all the fish being on the opposite side was incredible. And it was unlikely I had laid my deodorant on the dresser. Within seconds, my hand landed on the deodorant. I pulled off the lid and took a sniff to determine if it was mine or my hubby’s. Amazing, it was my shower fresh Secret deodorant.
Isn’t God amazing? He hears our prayers: the small requests, the large requests, and everything in between. It astounds me that our busy God who has the entire world in His hands, makes time for something so simple. Something as mundane as leading a blind woman to her deodorant.
This single incident was a confidence booster. It reminded me that God is also working on my greatest needs too. Although He hasn’t answered yet, He is orchestrating something miraculous and wonderful.
Friend, be encouraged today. God hears your smallest prayers as well as the bigger ones. He hears, and He wants you to trust Him to answer when it is according to His will. He wants all His children to come to Him in childlike faith believing He will not only hear, but He will answer.
What needs do you have today? Health concerns? Financial concerns? Problems on your job? Problems in your home? Ask your Father in full assurance that He hears and answers. The true secret is no secret: God answers prayers.
Lord, we praise You for hearing our every need. We are in awe of Your concern, and we confidently know You are at work on our behalf. Thank You Lord! Amen.

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (Mark 11:24 NKJV)
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. (John 15:7-8 NKJV)
HIKING THE TRAIL
If you struggle with doubt, prayerfully search your heart to find the source of that doubt, and ask God to remove it.
