Being uninvited sure does hurt. But so does the realization an invitation was given only out of obligation, not because the group wanted me to attend but was obligated due to a policy requiring everyone to be given an invite. Now the guests did not know about that policy. But once the guests arrived it was easily seen who they had hoped would not have shown up. Both forms of rejection sting. Boy did some of our fav Bible characters all deal with rejection.
Yes, that stinks to all of it does
