“Deformity.”

That was the word the doctor used. As a blind child, I’d been called many names, but as an adult, that word cut straight to my soul.

After a massive spinal surgery involving 18 screws and two rods, I woke up with scars I absolutely hated. It took time, prayer, and deep immersion in the Word to realize those scars aren’t signs of brokenness—they are battle trophies. 🏆

If you’re struggling to love the person you see in the mirror today, I want to remind you of three truths: 1️⃣ You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). 2️⃣ Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19). 3️⃣ You are God’s “Poiema”—His beautiful poem and masterpiece (Eph 2:10).

Stop letting the world (or a diagnosis) define you. God is your Creator, and He gets the final say.
