The Lord gives the command; The women who proclaim good news are a great army: (Psalm 68:11 NASB 2020)
Each year, around October, I begin asking God for a word to align with for the upcoming year. In the past, He gave me believe when God blessed me with a miracle, unashamed, when I took a stand for God despite the unpopular outcome, and connect in a year of lockdowns when God blew my mind with new connections.
The word for 2022 didn’t make sense at first. Voice. Yes, we can voice the gospel, but that doesn’t quite flow off the tongue. Then I saw today’s verse in a translation I rarely use.
Does the verse say a great army of women will proclaim the good news, or is that a translator taking liberties with the Bible? It didn’t take long for my research to reveal this verse truly speaks about a group of women. The New King James Version uses the word company, and that word refers to a company of women.
The word, proclaim, has the same definition as voice, meaning to make known or declare. Proclaim has a better ring to it, don’t you think?
Then, I registered for my first in-person writers/speakers conference in years, and the name of the conference…proclaim! That confirmed it. In 2022, I will proclaim the good news. I will proclaim the gospel throughout social media. I will proclaim encouragement to women on my web site. I will proclaim freedom from prisoners of emotional bondage through my next book, and I will proclaim the love of Jesus when I speak at live events.
During 2021, God connected me with the right people who will help me proclaim His Word in 2022. How amazing is our God?
My friend, do you choose a word for the year, something God leads you to? We’ve only stepped across the threshold of 2022. It’s not too late to grab your word for this year. Get alone with God, ask Him for your word, and then wait. He will reveal His word for you in 2022. As you read the Bible, listen to preaching, read a devotional like this one, and even listen to music, you will find your word for 2022 popping up everywhere. That’s when you know it is God’s hand-picked word for you in a glorious new year.
Heavenly Father, thank You for directing our steps. Give us direction and a word from You to guide us just like the star guided the wise men. Help me honor You in 2022. Amen.

Read Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

God gave me the word REVIVE for 2022. This is going to be the Bible verse I will use to go with my word.
Isaiah 57:15
For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.
I love that word in that verse. Perfect for a writer.
