Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” (Matthew 4:3 NKJV)
Each morning, we pull on a shirt and a pair of pants, but we neglect to dress in the most important piece of our outfit. The belt of truth. Like me, you might wonder how we actually adorn ourselves in God’s armor. How does this belt of truth protect us? Have we missed the subtle maneuvers of the enemy?
Satan has a short playbook, and his number one strategy is to plant doubt. When Jesus faced Satan in the wilderness, Satan targeted Jesus’ identity with one little word…if. When John baptized Jesus, God spoke from heaven declaring the true Identity of Christ:
“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17b NKJV)
Immediately the enemy devised a scheme to tempt Jesus, but Jesus never fell for Satan’s tricks. You see, friend, if the devil tried to steal the identity of Jesus Christ, he will certainly chisel away at our identities as children of God. Today, I want to remind you who you really are: the accepted, beloved, and chosen daughter of God. Satan is behind the rejection that stings. He is behind the person who abandoned you without a second glance. He makes us feel inadequate. Then he whispers, “God can’t love you. God can’t use you. You aren’t good enough for God. If you are the daughter of God, life wouldn’t be so hard.”
Sometimes his attack comes in one or two hard-hitting blows, but he usually eats away at my spirit like rust eroding a metal chair left out in the rain.
One of my goals this year is to draw more traffic to my web site, so I check my stats daily. Frustration builds when traffic is light, causing me to reconsider why I write devotionals. The devil begins hissing in my ear about the hours I pour into writing.
Ladies, he doesn’t want us to know his tricks, but I have exposed one today. What doubts do you have? What insecurities has he fed you? Go to the truth found in the Word of God. Now, wear that truth. The truth that calls you accepted, beloved, and chosen as Paul writes in the first chapter of Ephesians. The truth that says we are His own special people (1 Pet. 2:9). The truth that says we are His workmanship or masterpiece (Eph. 2:10).
Once you find the truth, memorize the truth. Write it down. Make it your home screen on your smart phone. And every morning when you get dressed, put on that truth by praying for God to remind you. Ask God for the discernment between His truth and Satan’s lies. Now go walk it out.
Heavenly Father, You have sacrificed so much because of Your deep love for me. I am Your warrior princess. I am a daughter of the Most High King! I am blessed, chosen, holy, redeemed, rich, wise, and an heir. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen.

Read 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV:
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
HIKING THE TRAIL
In order to stay protected by the belt of truth, we must first know the truth. Then pray every morning asking God to help you walk in the truth.

Oh the enemy feeds me the “you are not important therefore you will be left behind or forgotten” line almost daily. And just as soon as I have begun to not listen or believe it something will happen in my life that reinforces what the enemy has been feeding me and he laughs at me for thinking it was a lie. This very thing happened just this week and I could hear the enemy laughing in the back of my head taunting me with, just when you thought you would not be forgotten, well you were and I just proved it. And the sad truth of this was I was overlooked, not informed of a change that everyone else had been informed of (i was in the dark, again). The saddest part is that the enemy only uses things against us that profoundly effect us and things that can be used to pick at a healing wound to loosen the scab just enough for it to be open, raw and bleed again.
Amen. That is so true. I think one reason we struggle with believing God will come through for us is that we don’t really understand God’s love.
