Have you ever wondered if God really cares about you? Is He faithful to give you guidance when you need it most? Does He want to hear about your needs? Will God give you peace when stress and distress are knocking at your door?

Aren’t Christians exempt from problems? That’s what someone told me one time. I don’t know about you, but my life has been filled with problems–or, challenges–from Day 1. Even though we don’t like to admit it, aren’t we all needy? Most of us consider needs as unwanted enemies. But not our faithful Father. He knows that we can do nothing apart from His intervention; yet don’t we constantly try to meet the deepest needs of our lives on our own? I’ve done that often in my life!

At times, we see our needs more like fence posts that trap us and keep us discouraged. But our faithful heavenly Father breaks through every barrier. What if your needs were God’s personal invitation to experience His faithfulness in a greater way? He already has the supply–and is the Supplier–for all our needs before we even recognize the problem or even ask for help. And He longs to meet those needs for us.

Here are only two verses about God’s faithfulness to meet every need in our lives. The Bible is filled with so many more:

And my God will meet all your needs according to the richness of his glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 NIV). The writer of Hebrews further testifies to God’s faithful activity:

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)

Our Faithful Father wants to meet our deepest needs, whether we classify the need simply as more of Him, or as a concern in critical areas of our lives on earth. He desires our intimacy when we’re faithless, when we’re scared, and when we’re hurting. He is faithful in His actions because He is faithful to His very name (s)–just because of who He Is.¹
