Now that you are saved, born again. No one can bring any condemnation against you because the blood Of Jesus has set you free. We will mess up. We will fail, but as long as we have truly repented, Jesus has covered all our sins.

1 Peter 2:16 NKJV
While Christians have freedom in Jesus Christ, Peter warns us not to use that freedom as a cloak for sin. The Greek word, “bondservant” is translated “slave.” Though we are free from hell and death, we are slaves to God. However, the definition of a Greek slave will surprise you. They weren’t mistreated and overworked. Slaves were well cared for. Their needs were met by their loving master. Likewise, God provides and cares for us.

Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Isaiah 61:1 NKJV
Not only does Jesus Christ set us free from the penalty of sin, He frees us from prison. The ones without bars. Perhaps, yours is a prison of disease and illness. Maybe it is a financial prison or a relational prison. Maybe it is a prison of discouragement, despair, or depression. Whatever prison you find yourself in, Jesus has come to set you free.

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:31-32NKJV
Quite likely this is the most popular verse about the freedom that accompanies a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only truth. All other religions are filled with lies. The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ.

Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
Romans 5:18 NKJV
Our final verse exhibits the price of salvation. It is free, not for sale, not for works, but a gift. If I give you a gift, what does it cost you? Absolutely nothing! Salvation is the free gift that cost Christ everything, but it cost us nothing.
